David Clarke is a Professor at the University of Melbourne and Director of the International Centre for Classroom Research (ICCR). Over the last twenty years, his research activity has centered on capturing the complexity of classroom practice through a program of international video-based classroom research and the ICCR has provided the focus for collaborative activities among researchers from more than 20 countries.

Centre Coordinator - Carmel Mesiti

Carmel Mesiti is Centre Coordinator of the International Centre for Classroom Research (ICCR) at the University of Melbourne. She has been involved in Education for over 20 years. She is project manager of the Lexicon Project and a research member of the Australian team. Her research interests have included lesson structure, lesson beginnings, mathematical tasks and more recently, as part of her doctoral work, the nature of differences in the pedagogical lexicons of education communities internationally. Carmel began her career in government schools as a secondary school mathematics teacher and held leadership positions including year level coordinator and mathematics faculty coordinator.

Research Fellow - Dr Man Ching Esther Chan

Dr Man Ching Esther Chan is a Research Fellow in the International Centre for Classroom Research (ICCR) at The University of Melbourne. She is a registered psychologist who specialises in educational psychology and assessment. She is currently involved in several research projects at the ICCR, including an investigation of collaborative problem solving in mathematics, and a study of the knowledge construction process of mathematics teachers. Prior to joining the ICCR, she worked on several Australian Government funded projects in student wellbeing and achievement, early literacy assessment, and school retention. She was awarded the Endeavour Research Fellowship in 2015 by the Australian Government and was hosted six months by the University of California, Berkeley.

Technical Manager - Cameron Mitchell

Cameron has fulfilled the role of Technical Manager of the International Centre for Classroom Research since 2002. He specialises in the design, implementation and workflows associated with complex classroom video data capture and online Asset Management Systems. The ICCR manages one of the largest classroom video databases anywhere in the world, with some 16 countries affiliated with the Centre. Cameron presents regularly at International Educational Conferences and has delivered training to a number of partner institutions both nationally and internationally.

Technical Officer - Peter "Reggie" Bowman

As an active member of the ICCR technical team, Peter “Reggie” Bowman has been instrumental in design construct and consult of technical and workflow solutions on numerous research projects. With a wealth and depth of knowledge from audio, video and multimedia industries for over 30 years, brings a wide base of skill sets to engage the most demanding of tasks and has a passion for problem solving. Reggie also has experience in various forms of web and app development and has contributed to numerous publications and presentations locally and internationally.
